Velveeta-Free Queso

I love chips and queso. Love it. It’s so bad for me, I know, but sometimes I just don’t care. All the recipes I have ever made call for Velveeta, but 1) I don’t have any on hand and 2) I don’t really want any of that anyway! I did some scrounging and made some yummy queso for lunch.

Velvetta-Free Queso

  • 12 oz evaporated milk
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 c salsa of choice
  • hot sauce to taste

Heat milk and cream cheese in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk until cream cheese is incorporated. Reduce heat to low, add cheddar, allow it to melt, and add salsa and hot sauce. Enjoy!
